Being sure of me !

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. “Pooh?” he whispered. “Yes, Piglet?” “Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s hand. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”

I love this quote! A friend sent it to me this week in a text. Such a simple thought and even simpler action!

The last few weeks have been tough. Things have not always gone they way they should have and I have struggled with the ups and the downs in my own life as well as trying to be there for others. Why do we make ourselves feel guilty when we are happy and others are sad? What is it that sets us off down the road of doom and gloom when we should be staring at the sun?  We all work damn hard to achieve our successes in life, so why when we reach the top of that hill do we allow others to talk us back down to half way up?

On Wednesday night at The Western Health and Racquets Club Gym, the session I did with GymGuyMark felt like one of the toughest I have ever done. Lots of cardio and even a bit of running! I was totally knackered at the end and could hardly walk home, but deep inside I was so pleased with myself because I knew I had broken another mental barrier. The barrier of knowing that I can do this and can see my ‘goal’ but need to break through my ‘glass ceiling’ to get there, well I think I might have smashed it on Wednesday even though I was totally knackered and hurting all over. Physically and mentally tired because I allowed outside influences to make me doubt who I am and the balance I am trying to achieve in my life.

So now that I am on holiday for the next two weeks at the Costa Del Hame’ll Dae Me, it is time to chill, working out both mind and body to refocus on what is important, figure out how to climb that hill and stay at the top to see the glorious view that is life. All in the knowledge that somewhere behind me there are always good people I can ‘be sure of’ who support me in the trek that is my life.

So here is to the start of a new phase, a new determination and another gin or six!

Thank you all for your support this far!
