Facing 5 Fears – Thought for the present

five

Someone sent me this quote this morning

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment”

Buddha

The last few weeks have been so much about the past that at times it has been hard to concentrate on the present. Living for the day can be the hardest thing to do when you know you have decided to face head on something your heart is telling you NO don’t do but your head says YES.  You know your head is right, you know it is a good thing but that it might hurt.

When I read the quote I had a flash back to when I was a teenager. I played quite a lot of club badminton and the teams had decided that I was good enough to play for the first team. I have to admit that I was terrified. The thought of facing some of these really good division one teams had me shaking. However on the night of my first match, someone said to me, “get that first serve in and you are away, after that it will be a doddle”.  Not only did I get the first serve in but the woman i served it to hit the shuttle straight into the net. One Love!

Yes, there are many times in our life when we need to look ahead, plan for the future, train hard for an event or budget (?) but TODAY is all about the present and the here and now.
